Thank you for expressing an interest in this critical role within the Student Loans Company to lead the Operations business. This is an opportunity to run a complex, scale operation that must both deliver sometimes quite intricate government policy at the same time as meeting modern efficiency and customer service standards.
The Operations business is staffed by a committed workforce who, despite the pandemic, are currently rounding off their extraordinary achievement of financing a record number of students who have chosen to invest in their futures through higher and further education. In so doing, the Student Loans Company also finances the higher education sector in the UK. Taken together, we are part of supporting the investment in the country’s future economic success.
The task now is to harness a comprehensive transformation in operating model and foundational and contact centre technologies, which is already underway. But we are in the foothills of building a modern, responsive and sustainable operation, so we need strong transformation skills, and a proven track record in modern operational service delivery from your line management and leadership roles to deliver this. You will also have had experience in exploiting modern contact and case management technologies, which will be crucial as we put more reliance on technologies such as Salesforce.
You would be joining an ambitious executive leadership team, with backgrounds in finance, technology and public service. We are overseen and supported by a similarly ambitious Board of a similar range of backgrounds.
